Meet Our Founder

Dawn Henwood’s PhD in English from the University of Toronto has served as a launchpad into a career spanning both communication and learning design. Drawing on her background in university teaching (in both communication and business), she has gained deep insight into how people learn by working in instructional design and experiential learning.  

Author of two books on business communication, over the past 25+ years, Dawn has taught more than 2,000 experts how to make their complex ideas resonate with any audience. She has worked across an eclectic range of fields, including IT consulting, environmental engineering, defense technology, pharmacy, remote sensing, and more. 

Dawn doesn’t teach to impart information; she creates rich, personalized learning experiences that enable quick wins and lasting behavior change. Highlights of her teaching career have included running a national technical communication program for a Big Four firm in the US, delivering workshops for the African Development Bank in Nigeria, and building the Technical Writing Certificate and the Microcredential in Communication Skills for Knowledge Mobilization offered through Dalhousie University.
